ISIS is known to have previously carried out bombings against Kurds in that area. The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF),A Kurdish-dominated militia, was backed up by air strikes from the US-led coalition, which is spearheading the battle against ISIS in northern Syria. The jihadist group said Wednesday’s attack was in response to air strikes on the ISIS-held city of Manbij in north-west Aleppo province, where the SDF is on the offensive.
